AccelaRAD, the leading software-based services provider for radiology group digital operations, today announced its corporate rebranding from Neurostar Solutions, Inc. to its new name, AccelaRAD. The new name more accurately reflects the company's focus on software-based services engineered to accelerate the success of radiology groups. AccelaRAD gives radiology groups higher levels of automation, throughput and marketplace reach, enabling faster growth and greater operational efficiencies. An individual group radiologist can read, expertly visualize and complete more imaging studies involving multiple sites, hospitals and imaging centers and do so from any location. The company chose AccelaRAD as its new brand name to manifest its strategic evolution toward offerings that enhance radiology performance.

"Since our inception nearly ten years ago, our innovative technology-based service has gained widespread recognition as a robust, cost-effective and uniquely flexible platform," states Willie Tillery, CEO of AccelaRAD. "We are capitalizing on our success by focusing specifically on our unique points of differentiation"comprehensive image management with unmatched sophistication and speed for over 70 radiology and teleradiology groups, 600 imaging centers, hospitals and other imaging businesses, for whom we are currently processing over 2,000,000 studies per year. Our solutions provide a robust and cost-effective tool not only to help customers streamline their own businesses, but also to help them enhance service to their own referring physician customers."

Over the past decade, the radiology field has progressed through a digital transformation with new ever-larger digital inputs and ubiquitous digital output expectations with various interconnected hospital and medical office systems. Medical imaging devices, clinical and financial software systems and the clinical community that consume a radiologist's work product creates digital throughput, quality and expansion pressure on radiology groups. AccelaRAD eliminates the need for radiology groups - in order to cope with these demands - to cobble together various products such as PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), which were engineered from a hospital perspective, not for the realities and rigors of today's undermanned and increasingly dispersed radiology groups. The AccelaRAD brand suggests the faster, more responsive nature of the company's solutions vis-?-vis trying to buy, configure, combine and customize products not designed for the tasks and that eventually limit revenue growth, cut profitability and hamper quality.

"We have adjusted, enhanced and packaged a solution to meet the needs of our customers and wanted a brand name that mirrors what we do," says Mr. Tillery. "The digital radiology revolution of this past decade has provided many of the components necessary to automate today's work environment; however, they require groups to own and operate expensive software, develop extensive work-a-rounds, and engage in awkward contracts and staffing deployments. Radiology groups typically have a difficult time providing comprehensive coverage, profitably staffing to meet service expectations, and taking advantage of opportunities to expand business. Imaging studies are getting bigger with more complex analysis required. Specialists want advanced visualization and faster turnaround digitally and automatically in their offices, in locations they want, when they want them. Until AccelaRAD, unless a radiology group served only a single hospital site, it had no viable alternative or real solution to these issues."

AccelaRAD offers a virtual, automated platform for completing radiology work in almost any complex environment. Radiologists simply "plug-in" to the service network and focus on what he or she was trained to do in medical school and the radiology group does not have to waste time and money on information technology, extra staff and under-engineered operations. "Our new AccelaRAD brand symbolizes the fast and incredibly simple method for smooth, seamless operations and better service that groups can provide to their customers," adds Tillery.

"Through our years of experience, we developed a unique understanding of today's radiologists and emerging trends in the imaging field. In the current mobile radiology work environment, more than ever before, radiologists are looking for solutions that provide instant image access in any location"whether office, home or on the go. In today's age of rapidly evolving radiology business relationships, radiology groups also need flexibility and solutions that support access to sub-specialists. The ever-growing shortage of radiologists is another factor expanding the need for flexible solutions with universal connectivity," comments Arman Sharafshahi, President of AccelaRAD.

Customers of AccelaRAD contract for their service similar to how a cell phone or utility company operates. "We sell per imaging study or by monthly fee and do not require our customers to own, operate or purchase anything. We've had customers who were literally up and live in a day, versus the months they were expecting."

Tillery elaborates further, "We want our new brand to embody a more comprehensive answer for groups. Not only do we want them to be much more productive with higher quality, we want our customers to experience a new and better paradigm. Through AccelaRAD, everyone involved in the digital radiology chain can be impacted in a positive way." Referring primary care physicians can get the results and associated reports they need more quickly; specialists can see, read and analyze their imaging studies quicker and more effectively, and even patients can manage and exchange their personal clinical imaging records in a method far superior to any previous options.

AccelaRAD features the Virtual Radiology Network (VRN), a unique web-based imaging and radiology throughput management solution designed from the ground up for software as a service (SaaS) delivery. The VRN combines a cutting edge image analysis platform with secure, reliable and efficient image communication over the Internet to authorized users, wherever located. Its innovative architecture and universal workflow enable imaging centers, hospitals and physicians' offices to share image data with radiologists independent of location to help them expand services, productivity and referrals. The technology infrastructure behind the VRN is co-located within two world-class data center facilities. The AccelaRAD data center provides a redundant secure server infrastructure (RSSI), including clustered processing servers, load balancers, database servers and storage devices, that's built to scale and process over 100 million studies per year.

The VRN offers such functionalities as automatically updated worklists, hanging protocols, priors from 3rd party PACS, RIS/HIS HL7 interfacing, and exam load balancing all integrated across multiple locations to support an enterprise without walls. AccelaRAD also provides VRAnywhere, a location-free, integrated voice recognition module for report dictation. AccelaRAD also shortly will launch an integrated 3-D streaming reconstruction component that will allow radiologists to get the benefits of high end reconstruction tools on any machine from any location. Under the new AccelaRAD name, the company will build upon all its innovative features to cater to the needs of today's burgeoning teleradiology firms and other offsite radiology service providers.

"With the recent economic downturn, radiology businesses must make the most of their resources and capital. The need for a solution that delivers PACS, radiology group operations, distribution and integration functionality without the heavy footprint of a traditional system is greater than ever. AccelaRAD is on the leading edge in addressing these needs. As a solution designed as a SaaS from the ground up, AccelaRAD's VRN delivers a genuine economy of scale. By contrast, traditional vendors"even those that have recently adopted managed service offerings"do not. Furthermore, traditional vendors are driven by one-time transactions for software licenses, hardware, installation and other service fees. They win when prospects buy, while AccelaRAD wins when customers grow," adds Willie Tillery.
